Start O' School Salutations, Saints.
I've heard a number of people say how fast the summer went. Yikes! We go into it thinking we'll do this & that and go here & there... and then it suddenly ends. It sure seemed full and busy to me. We managed a family reunion in June and a camping trip with the kids in July... and now August has flown by. My oh my. Enjoy the last summer fling with the Labor Day weekend.
We received a thank you from the group 'Spokane Prays' for hosting the August prayer '12 hours' plus meal. They mentioned an increased attendance, peaceful setting and a great meal. Thanks to all who served and participated!
AND we're still looking for teachers and helpers for the new and improved Story Hour as well as the KidZone. Our children are so important! Invest in the next generation. Call or text Jayne Keller at 509-863-7960.
What's Goin' On...
*Friday September 5 is the second installment in our 'sing and pray' time with some old favorite hymns. It'll be in the fellowship hall at 6:30pm. Snacks provided.
*Sunday, Sept 7 begins the new all-family Sunday school time from 9 to 9:45am. Elementary age kids will have Story Hour with Bible, video, drama, puppets, games, arts, crafts and maybe even cooking! (Not all that every week, but we'll mix it up). Then middle and high schoolers will learn in the newly configured Ambassadors for Christ, led by Chris Ho, Sarah Hinshaw and Jason Peterson. And of course, the old ACE (Adult Christian Ed) will still be in the fellowship hall for us old timers. Rick starts that out with some interesting teaching.
*Also Sept 7 is the annual 'Summer Concert' benefitting North County Food Pantry and the New Hope Resource Center on the grounds of Colbert Presbyterian on the corner of Colbert Road and Highway Two. There's a menu (for purchase) of hot dogs, polish sausage, chips, baked goods and ice cream. Raffle baskets will be available, outdoor games AND live music by Ron Steele's rock of the 60s, 70s and 80s group, "Just in Time". It all happens from 5 to 7pm.
*If you'd like to be baptized, we're having a river baptism on Sunday, Sept 14. See me so we make sure we're on the same page as to what we think baptism means! It looks like at least four will be baptized that day.
This Sunday...
We'll worship, pray and hear from Revelation 20 concerning personal judgment. Last week, we talked about world judgment. This week it'll hit closer to home. (!)
See you Sunday?
