Fall Greetings, Saints!
The leaves are in color now... And, if the weather forecast is accurate, this weekend will be the big fire season ending event: lotta rain and cooler temps. Sorry for your outdoor plans... but you know we need it. Enjoy the rain! That can be pleasant, if yer inside with coffee or soup. Tis the season to replace my wiper blades, now that the rain is on the way. I've got 'em, just gotta get 'em on.
If you were with us last Sunday, you know it was a sweet time of worship and prayer. We've gotten some great comments on it. One of my recent prayers for the church is that we learn to engage with God. When we gather together on Sundays, it's not just to sing a bit, listen and grab cookies. We're here primarily for God. He is our focus. And I think we encountered him last Sunday. Thanks to all who participated. The next quarterly Concert of Prayer will be the first Sunday in January.
What's Goin' On...
*Tomorrow at 1pm we'll have a memorial for long time church member Charlotte Guy.
*Sign up for the Men's Retreat on Nov 7-9 is still happening after the service...
*As is the Quilt Raffle to benefit Showers of Blessings. Tickets a mere $1!
*Craft Fair happens on Saturday, October 25. Lunch, bake sale and lots of unique gift ideas for sale.
*We're still accepting donations to help elementary kids in our area to have food on the weekends. $23 a month or $184 per year for one child for 8 months. Make checks out to CCC and put 'Bite 2 Go'[ on the memo line.
*Mel, retired Mead district math teacher, is available for math tutoring should your child need it (I know I could have used it back in the day...).
*AND we're still looking for a paid nursery worker for Sundays at $20 per hour. Talk to Melissa or Vickie
.
This Sunday...
Ace, Story Hour and Ambassadors for Christ happen at 9am (parents, your kids could use this!). Gary O begins a series on apologetics for us oldsters. In then service, we'll worship and look at our brand new eternal home from the end of Revelation: what's there and what's absent? Come on down and find out.
See you Sunday?
