Greetings from Pastor Rob

Howdy, Saints.

I’m not sure about your neighborhood, but on my street, it rained some

this past Tuesday morning. Rained. It wasn’t much, but the street was

wet when I got up. It wasn’t in the forecast. But I’d prayed for

rain several times on Monday. I consider it a gracious gift from God. I

know others who are praying for rain. Again, please join me! I’d love

to make it to fall without a fire catastrophe. I know that sometimes

fire is used to get rid of superfluous growth… but we can pray and ask

God to sort it out, right?

What’s Goin’ On… 

*There’s a wedding shower for Leila R a week from tomorrow, July

18 at 1pm here at the church. Cisco and Leila are doing a money tree for

a honeymoon fund. There’ll be a container in which to place cards and

cash.

*VBS is arriving soon, July 20-23, 9am to noon. This is for kids 4 years

old thru those going into 6th grade.

*This is the LAST SUNDAY to secure tickets for the Indians Baseball game

on July 22. $14 gets you a good seat on Family Night, with cheaper eats.

Last Sunday!!!!

*Sunday July 26 after the service there’ll be an info meeting

concerning the new seats and pews.

*And that evening, the 26th, there’s summer concert benefitting the

New Hope Resource Center and the North Co. Food Pantry. The concert is

free; food will be available to purchase and you’ll be able to bid on

raffle baskets. Family outdoor games are included.

Needs...

*Cookies!!  The pickings are real slim around here. Bake up & bring in,

please!!

*Awana has need of some creativity! There looking for a person willing

to refresh the Awana bulletin board in then foyer once a month. C’mon

you creatives!  See Leanne or Jayne.

*Showers of Blessings needs infant afghans, socks for boys and small

stuffed animals for boys (to give away).

*VBS needs small prizes for the kids: games, toys and snacks. Drop them

in the tote in our foyer.

*We're looking for help with cookies—that important ministry that gets us into the fellowship hall and talking to one another. If you're interested, stop by the upstairs kitchen and talk to Joanne C or Dana P. It involves setting up the tables and trays of snacks, placing them in the fellowship hall and helping to clean up. Easy peasy. Check with the aforementioned ladies, Thanks!

This Sunday…

We’ll have worship and prayer as usual. We’ll hear about Awana as

our monthly missionary emphasis. And we’re back in the series on 1

Corinthians, this week in chapter 9. It seems strangely out of context

after chapter 8, but I hope it’ll make sense as we talk about it.
