Salutations, Saints!

We had our normal Thursday morning prayer time yesterday. It was rich.

Seven attended. Our focus is on praise/worship at the start, and some

days that’s mostly what we do. It is so much more than a list of

requests. We get to hang out with God! There’s really a sense of being

in his presence. Some pray verbally, some inwardly. In waiting on God,

there’s an opportunity to discover what’s on his mind and heart, and

to try to dial in to that as we praise and pray. Come on down!

Oh, by the way, there’s been a couple times this week when it rained a

little. Not forecasted. I smile, because Deb & I have been praying for

rain. God is listening! We need the humidity.

What’s Goin’ On…

*Tomorrow, there'll be the GOP caucuses for those of you who are

interested. Go to the GOP website for times and locations.

*Sunday, all you VBS volunteers will do your prep for the big week

ahead. Pizza will be downstairs! Thanks for your help.

*This Sunday is the time to pick up the baseball tickets you purchased.

See Ron S & I’ll see you Wednesday night at the ballpark.

*Monday starts VBS for 4 days, from 9am to noon. There’ll be a dinner

and a final gathering on Thursday evening. Invite your kids, grandkids

and neighbors! It’s for 4years old thru this entering 6th grade. Fun,

food, give-aways, games and Bible… The focus is on Psalm 23 this year.

Registration is at 9am Monday.

*A week from Sunday eve, July 26, is the free concert at New Hope

Resource Center. I heard a rumor that our own Denny B will be

serving up hotdogs (to benefit NHRC) there! Go keep him busy. It’s

from 6 to 8pm with classic rock and country hits.

NEEDS: a few more prizes for kids at VBS… I’m still looking for

volunteers to visit & encourage seniors at North Point Village. See

me… Awana needs your creativity to make the bulletin board in the

foyer look good once a month. OH! North County Food Pantry can really

use your empty egg cartons. They get eggs in bulk and need them to

distribute to folks in smaller amounts.

And… cookies. Always.

This Sunday…

In addition to our prayer and worship, we’ll look at 1 Corinthians

9:12-27. It’s all about the gospel. What does ‘gospel’ mean and

where did they get that word? Why was Paul so enamored of it that he

said, “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!”? Come on down &

we’ll look at it.
