VBS Greetings, People!
It’s been a great week. 92 kids attended the first day, a record.
Those here were entertained with a 'minute to win it’ set of contests
between Alisa C and Rick J, daily guessing games and many prizes
(thanks to y’all). Yes, there were snacks and games and crafts, but
most importantly, the Bible. Specifically, Psalm 23. That was the theme
all week. Plus, the kids were asked to bring in items for the North
County Food Pantry… and boy, did they. Over a thousand food items were
donated… aided by the competition between boys and girls. They really
competed! It was a rare win for the boys this year. :-)
A huge 'Thank You’ to all of you who donated valuable time, energy and
prizes to make VBS happen.
What’s Goin’ On…
*This Sunday after the service, we’ll have an update for all who are
curious about what’s going on with the seating re-do in our sanctuary.
Jack S will clue us in.
*This Sunday evening, 6 to 8, is the Free Summer Concert at the Colbert
Presbyterian Church Outdoor Pavilion benefitting the No. Co Food Pantry.
You’ll hear classic rock and country, and will be able to purchase
food and/or bid on raffle baskets.
*August 9th is the annual Chattaroy Church Picnic. Calendarize it and
plan to attend. We’ll need assistance with setting up prior to and
cleaning up after. Talk to Dana P.
NEEDS…
*Cookies and cookie assistance! We need volunteers to help set up the
snacks for our post-service snack-N-chat. Plus cookies. See Joanne
C or Dana P.
*Awana’s still looking for that creative person to design the bulletin
board in the foyer once a month during the school year. See Leanne
G or Jayne K.
This Sunday…
We’ll hear how Don P found Jesus, we’ll worship and we’ll
look at 1 Corinthians 10:1-13. Paul’s warning the folks about some
things that could snare them… and us.
