Greetings from Pastor Rob 9-25-2026

Happy Fall (officially) Saints.

Break out your favorite pumpkin spice whatever (mine are donuts). The weather is starting to match the calendar. I’m glad to live in the Inland Northwest. Where else can you have 35 or 40 degree temperature swings in one day? We need heat in the morning and AC in the afternoon...

Chase A and I just returned from a Preaching Intensive over on the west side. What is it? A seminary-level seminar on the art of preaching well. I wish I’d had this class 40 years ago. There was real practical and spiritual advice on bringing God’s word to others accurately and creatively. It was intense: two 9-to-5 days of serious learning and note taking, plus a day of hearing and encouraging others in their craft. And we both got to preach a 20 minute message and be constructively criticized! (after some encouragement). It was very valuable. Thanks for allowing us to attend and learn.

What’s Goin’ On…

*TOMORROW, Saturday Sept 26, is the Discovery Class in the fellowship hall, 10 to noon. Coffee and snacks will be available. If you have questions about what we believe and how we operate, come on down.

*Next Weekend!! It’s the free event of the fall, all day Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3: Be Bold for Jesus happens in downtown Spokane, but we have streaming here at the church for no cost. This is worship, speakers and even some Christian comedy. Youth will have their own ‘stage’ (screen) downstairs and others up. See Chris H or Bud M with any questions.

*Operation Christmas Child (aka the shoeboxes) begins next Sunday!

*The Men’s Retreat is Nov 6-8 up at Riverview Bible Camp. Calendarize it! More info coming soon.

Don’t Forget…

*Bite-2-Go, helping kids who have no food on weekends. $184 for a year, or $23 per month (both one child).Write checks to CCC and put ‘Bite-2-Go on the memo line.

*The Craft Fair crew needs help for that Saturday, October 24. See Laurie J if you can help. Also, the Women’s Ministry Board is looking for a couple of gals to join for planning. See Laurie about that too.

*And as usual, we’re all looking for those snacks or home baked cookies for our after service time. Carpe Cookie.

This Sunday…

ACE (the Jesus Series) and AFC (grades 5-12) start at 9am; kids upstairs and adults in the fellowship hall. We have worship at 10 with all the usual suspects of worship, prayer and God’s word.

See you Sunday?
