Greetings from Pastor Rob 10-09-2026
Hey there, Saints.
I feel like we’re on a fall train (or roller coaster?), slowly starting up a gentle grade through changing leaves, football games, caramel apples, pumpkin donuts, cooler temps and the craft fair. When we hit the week before Thanksgiving, we start to go down that hill, careening thru turkey & dressing, basketball, Black Friday, Christmas music, gift frenzy, kids programs, services and New Years. Then the train evens out and we go chugging along in ‘normal’ life. We can do it! Buckle up; I hope you can enjoy the ride and trust God thru all of it.
What’s Goin’ On…
*This Tuesday, October 13 is the Seasoned Citizens’ lunch and fellowship time, noon downstairs. Soup, salad and dessert are on the menu. Call Nancy S or Karen R to see what you can bring.
*Operation Christmas Child has begun! That’s those shoeboxes we fill and are sent in Jesus’ name to children around the world. Grab your empty box and instructions in the foyer this Sunday and get it ready. November 22 is the last day.
*The Craft Fair is Oct 24 at the church. There’s still room for a few more vendors (see the application in the foyer). There will be food for purchase and a bake sale… if you bake! Talk to Trudy R or Laurie J if you can bake and bring (it needs to be here on that Friday afternoon). I believe there’s an opportunity to serve that day (setting up, serving food…) See Laurie.
*Deb and I are still looking for people who’d like to be a part of a 12 week biblical discipleship group for those of us who can have a rough time with anxiety, coping with life or understanding the love of God. It’s called Untying the Knots of the Heart. See me if you’re interested. We’re looking to start at the end of October.
*The Men’s Retreat happens Nov 6-8. Get it on your calendar, men! The cost is just $125 for great food, fellowship and challenge. Caleb Altmeyer, founder of Helping Captives will be the speaker.
*DON’T FORGET… we have an opportunity to help local kids who don’t have food on the weekend. It’s called Bite-2-Go. $23 per month for 8 months or $184 for one chill for the school year. Write checks to CCC and put ‘Bite-2-Go’ on the memo line.
*And… Showers of Blessings could still use some help. Call Lora H.
This Sunday…
Ace (Adult Christian Ed) meets in the fellowship hall at 9. Rick is going through his The Jesus Series. Ambassadors for Christ (5th thru 12th grade) meets upstairs at the same time. In the service we’ll worship and hear the next in our series in 1 Corinthians, this time in the first half of chapter 15. The resurrection is the subject. Good stuff.
See you Sunday?
