Greetings from Pastor Rob 10-16-2026
Fall Greetings, People! |
I trust you’re enjoying our ramp-up to winter (did I just go and spoil it?). Get out there and enjoy fall as much as you can… it’s going by quickly. The bright red maple leaves that were full on in our back yard are now mostly on the ground. Our garden hoses are drained and stored, the sprinkling system is off & blown. Enough wood is in the basement for our wood stove. Gotta put the Christmas lights up before it gets too cold. I still haven’t grabbed any grandkids and gone out to Green Bluff… maybe this weekend. Deb & I really enjoyed a butternut squash the other night. It might be time to get a few more. Fall away, saints! |
But don’t fall away from prayer. We still pray in the fellowship hall on Mondays at 3pm and Thursdays from 8 to 9am. Join us and undergird our church and others, seeking God’s work and power among us. |
What’s Goin’ On… |
*Raffle tickets for the quilts in the fellowship hall are offered for a buck (such as deal!) for one more Sunday (benefitting Showers of Blessings). The winners will be drawn at 2pm at our... |
*Craft Fair, a week from Saturday (the 24th). They’ll be all kinds of unique gifts available including crochet items, wool rugs, leather goods, wood items, pottery, wreaths and much more. We’ll have 33 vendors, thanks to being able to use the sanctuary. Don’t forget the bake sale or lunch items to purchase; we still need some folks to bake and bring, as well as help with the sale. Grab some of those slick cards in the foyer about the craft fair and give them to your friends and relatives. |
*In the foyer racks is the list of home groups and Bible studies at the church. If you’re not a part of either, grab the green colored list and pray about being in one soon. This is the best way to connect with others here, bear their burdens and pray for one another. Oh… also to learn about scripture. :-) |
*Operation Christmas Child is ongoing. Pick up a clear ’shoebox’ and get it ready to bless a child far away with not only gifts but the good news of Jesus. |
*Bless kids in our area who don’t have food on the weekends by cutting a check to CCC and putting ‘Bite-2-Go’ in the memo line. A mere $23 per month does it or $184 for the whole year. |
*Sign up now for the Men’s Retreat on Nov 6-8. Caleb Altmeyer is speaking. Tournaments: Corn hole and table tennis. Food: lots & hearty. Cost: $125 per. And this year we’re opening it to males 15 and older (parents, use your discretion as to their maturity level). Caleb will have a message geared to include younger dudes. Plus, there’s rubbing elbows with us seasoned dudes. Gonna be good. |
This Sunday… |
All the usual at 9am: Ace, where Rick is in his Jesus Series and AFC upstairs, youth grades 5-12 (that’s Ambassadors for Christ). In the service, we’ll worship, pray and look at the last half of 1 Corinthians 15, where Paul lets us in on what these bodies will be like, post-resurrection. THAT is gonna be amazing! Come on down. |
See you Sunday? |

Musings: ‘I asked my wife what women really want she said, “A tent of lovers.” Or perhaps it was “attentive lovers”—I really wasn't listening.’ |
