Soggy Salutations, Saints.
I just heard of flooding by the Clark Fork river in Idaho and landslides due to too much moisture in the Cascades... meaning I-90 has been blocked in a few places. My oh my! Whod'a thunk it during December? Some of you may want to adjust your dreams of a white Christmas. ("I'm dreaming of a damp Christmas..."). I don't mind as long as there's snow at the higher elevations for the spring runoff (and, I guess, for you skier-boarder-snowmobilers). At least it looks like I won't have to shovel the rain!
I've been reading in Matthew lately, but what has bolstered me most in my morning times with God are these verses I use in my praise ramp-up to prayer and reading: "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens." Psalm 68:19 and also "For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end." Psalm 48:14. I am still amazed that the Creator God will stoop down to us and bear our burdens every day... and be our guide thru-out our entire lives: even to the end. Amazing. Thank you Lord.
What's Goin' On...
*This Sunday is our KidZone Christmas Pageant! Invite friends! It's gonna be good and will include candle lighting.
Sunday, Dec 21, His Song singing group will be festively leading us in worship. Invite music lovers!
*Wednesday, Dec 24 we'll have two identical Christmas Eve candle lighting services at 3:30 and 5pm. There'll be no childcare, but all ages are welcome. Invite someone!
*Friday Dec 26 will be flag football for all ages at Holmberg Park in north Spokane at 2pm. Bundle up and come on down.
Opportunities...
*There's a Christmas card rack for those who give cards in the foyer.
*We're looking at baptism in the next month or so. If you're interested, see me.
*Our advent offering is now at $10,075!! Thanks SO much for your generosity. Let's keep it going for the sake of outreach in PNG with solar powered Bible readers for tribes ($35 ea) and for fresh water for villages in India ($2000 ea). Dig deep, people! What great opportunities for God's kingdom.
This Sunday...
The 9am hour will see the Ambassadors for Christ upstairs, the Story Hour downstairs and in Ace in the fellowship hall, we continue that great video series, The Engagement Project. Super stuff.
Then the kids will present their pageant at 10! Come on down and enjoy it. Jason P will speak on 'Eagerly Awaiting' in anticipation of our coming Messiah.
See you Sunday?
