Hey Saints…

I attended a meeting this past Wednesday about disaster relief in Spokane. A group called United in Crisis helps gather the church in a locale to respond to crises. Too often we’ve abdicated to the government to help. These folks have 17 years experience responding to emergencies and training the church to respond well—not just with initial food and clothing, but in the long term. It sounds like a great idea. I went to the meeting because some of you have come to me with ideas for helping people affected by the fires… but where to give? How best to help? If Spokane churches get on board with this thing, there'll be immediate help available for the next fire or crisis through the local church. It will be run by a local board of people we know. Stay tuned. We’ll see what develops. One thing that stuck with me was that the presenter said we need to start with prayer. That’s solid.

What’s goin’ on…

*BOOK SALE! This Sunday, downstairs, benefiting Gary & April’s mission trip to Malawi, Africa. Head on down after the service, buy books and give generously to assist them with the costs of this trip.

*If you’re NOT getting the weekly blast, send your email address to Melissa at office@chattaroycc.com and put ‘email blast’ in the subject line. That’s it! Easy peasy. We prefer it in the email form more than the communication card. 

*KidZone launches on September 13 with their new video curriculum. It’s gonna be good. If you’d like to be put into the rotation (and we need you!), check with Jayne K. She’ll get you set up with access to the curriculum. And Awana can use a couple helpers for the fall, especially men.

*NEXT Friday, August 21, we’ll host the monthly Revival Prayer Gatherings here at CCC. We’ll be praying from 3 to 9pm. I’m leading in the first hour. Come and participate as long as you can. We’ll break for dinner at 6. Prayer is so important as we learn to lean on God and anticipate his moving among us. 

*Kitty S is giving free haircuts to kids going back to school! See her in church. 

*The No Co Food Pantry can use empty egg cartons. They distribute multiple dozens weekly. Pleas place them back at the donation station (by the KidZone room).

*AND if you’d like to have a table at the Craft Fair on October 24, grab an application on the racks in the foyer. 

This Sunday…

We’ll worship, hear about our missionaries in Mexico and look at 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. Is diversity really our strength? Come on down and find out.
