Greetings from Pastor Rob 10-23-2026
Craft Fair Salutations, Saints! |
I’ve been chewing on Psalm 115 for a couple days. Two things stand out (I’ll give ‘em to you out of order). After describing the reality of an idol (made by human hands, can’t walk, talk, see or hear), the psalmist says this: “Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” (Ps 115:8). We become what we worship! What (or Who) do you worship? We're drawn towards and become like the things we worship. Be aware! That also means worshiping God leans us to be more like him. |
The second thing is the glorious first verse of the same psalm: “Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” What a great prayer. Join me in raising that up to heaven: ‘All glory to you, God!’ One of the main reasons he deserves all the glory? Because of his love and faithfulness toward us frail and sinful humans. What a great God we serve. |
Vickie and Alisa are on their way today to the south Baja in Mexico to meet with the churches there and do a women’s conference. Please pray for them in the next 10 days. Thank you! |
What’s Goin’ On... |
*Tomorrow’s the big day for the Craft Fair! After months in planning, it’s here. We’ll get a little festive at church, with all manner of arts and crafts, lunch food and baked goods. It supports Women’s Ministry. Come on down and visit my booth (my booth is all free!) and grab lunch. This would be a great place and time to snatch up some unique Christmas gifts. Plus, if you’re in the raffle for the quilts, those will be drawn toward the end (2-3pm?). |
*We ran out of ‘We Believe We Vote’ voter guides last Sunday. There will be more available this Sunday if you haven’t voted yet. Please vote! This is a crucial election. I know they all are, but there’s some extra ‘juice’ on this one. I’ve just read about some nefarious plans afoot should there be issues with the election. If nothing else, PRAY God’s will and peace over our nation. |
*Operation Christmas Child is ongoing, now until Nov 22. Pick up a shoebox and some thoughtful gifts for kids around the world. The good news of Jesus is a big part of this. |
*Awana still has a few needs for set-up and security. See Leanne or Jayne. |
*Thanks to participating in the Human Life Washington diaper drive! You gave $395 toward those with little ones in need. Part of the distribution of diapers starts today. If you can help, call Jeryl R. If you’d like to donate, go to HLWConnects.life. |
*The Men’s Retreat will be up at Riverview Nov 6-8. Gonna be great. Caleb Altmeyer will speak. Young men ages 15 & up are invited (parents, check their maturity level). The cost is now $130. It’s bumped up $5 due to a steak dinner on that Saturday eve. Yeehaw! Grab a friend & sign up this Sunday. Fellowship Church will be joining us again this year. |
This Sunday… |
We’ll have all the usual suspects: The Jesus Series at 9 in the fellowship hall, AFC upstairs at the same time (youth, 5th thru 12th grade). Coffee will be in the foyer. In the service, we’ll worship, pray and hear our last message (for now) on 1 Corinthians. What a book. Paul wraps it up with chapter 16 with some miscellaneous and pertinent info. It’ll preach! |
See you Sunday? |
