Spring Greetings, Saints!
Enjoy the warmer weather. It's so cool to see the trees blossoming and the leaves budding. I know it happens all the time but I see the process as miraculous... or at least springing from the mind of an amazing Creator. What a great season.
No, I don't own any interest in Chick-fil-a, but I read something that made me want to eat there. Roughly 200 of the stores in the US are offering free ice cream to families who put their cell phones away while they eat. I'm not sure if our local Chick-fil-a has that offer, but what a great idea. How radical: talk to one another while eating! No screens! A fantastic idea in the right direction... with ice cream at the end. Sweet.
What's Goin' On...
*This Sunday those donations for Christ Kitchen are due. Bring the bags in and leave them on Melissa's desk. Thanks for helping women in Jesus' name!
*Tuesday, April 14 there'll be a Senior Lunch at the church followed by two missionaries to Africa explaining what they do. Talk to Karen Rice or Joyce Lammie about being there or helping in any way (Potluck it and let Karen know what you're bringing ahead of time.
*Calendarize & plan: The Church Talent Show is next Friday, April 17 at 6:30pm. Gonna be awesome! Frozen treats will be available afterwards. :-)
*The Women's Retreat in April 24-26 up at Riverview Bible Camp. "Firm in Faith" is the theme. Sign up this Sunday during cookie-time. Two Sundays left to sign up!
*May 15-16 is the huge Rummage Sale benefitting Awana kids & camp. Drop your stuff the day before, then come back and shop on Friday & Saturday.
*We need adult volunteers in the nursery... Talk to Vickie or Melissa. Carla is our regular worker, but we need back up for when she can't be there. Thanks.
*New Hope Resource Center needs queen size bedding, throws, shower curtains, ladies' underwear, men's shoes, socks for all, drinking glasses & coffee mugs and small kitchen appliances. NHRC helps families in need. Drop items at our donation station back by the KidZone room.
This Sunday...
Ambassadors (grades 5-12) will be upstairs at 9 and adults in Ace will be in the fellowship hall. Vickie will lead us in a walk-thru of Habakkuk, that wily prophet who questioned God about judgment... and lived to talk about it.
In the service His Song, the men's singing group, will lead us in worship. We usually see them around Christmas, so this will be new. I'll bring the message from 1 Corinthians 2:6-3:4 in our series. This one is all about the Holy Spirit.
See you Sunday?
