Winter Stagnation Salutations, Saints.

Man, this weather pattern is just hanging around, eh? Same ol' same ol'. I'd love even some of the rain we got last Nov & Dec. Unlike some, I think, 'At least it's not three feet of snow!' In my reasoning, I'd rather have stagnation than shoveling. What are ya gonna do? It's the weather; all we can do about it is talk.

But here's something we can do that's really productive.

Back in WWII when London was getting bombed regularly, someone called the city to prayer. They didn't know how much more death and destruction they could take. The suggestion was made: when Big Ben, that tall clock tower, struck nine in the evening, pray for London for one minute. They did. Later on, a German officer noted that the 9pm prayer had been effective.

Our county seems to be roiling in 'upsettedness' and disagreement. What if we set our phones' alarms to 9pm for a reminder to pray for our country? I think God would answer.

You know I can tend to harp on prayer a bit. Our Monday and Thursday prayer is good, but at the most we pray with 10 people. This seems like something we can all do. Might you set your phone alarm for 9pm and pray for just 60 seconds? The US needs help! With protests, Greenland, divisions, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and more... we need help.

What's Goin'On...

*Tithe Receipts are on the fellowship hall table. Pick yours up!

*"What if our church took the discipleship of men seriously?'  Men's Ministry is beginning a new study on every other Thursday evening at church titled The Pursuit. It starts with a five week study, patterning manhood after Jesus. It's a video series: watch and discuss. Bud M will facilitate. Starting date, Thursday, Jan 29.

*Secret Sisterhood is up for grabs for just one more week! Get your registration form on the fellowship hall table and turn it in to Jan Heins or onto Melissa's desk.

*Read thru the Bible in a year guides are available on the foyer table...

This Sunday...

Ambassadors for Christ, 5th thru 12th grades, meets upstairs at 9... Ace is in the fellowship hall, same time. In the service, we'll worship with some country gospel music. The message will be from Daniel 7, the beginning of the 'visions' section of Daniel's book. Like a lot of scripture, there's both warning and hope in this chapter. Check it out.

See you Sunday?
