Boxing Day Salutations, Saints!
It sounds like me & my brothers when we were younger and had too much time on our hands. It was boxing day and someone usually got hurt. But this is a real holiday in Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand now associated with shopping and sports but was possibly once for employers to give boxes of gifts to their employees the day after Christmas. I'd always thought it was for boxing up decorations or all the left over crumpled wrapping paper. Regardless, enjoy your Boxing Day (go punch a sibling... but in the arm and without lasting damage).
What's Going On...
*Calendarize this: The Senior Singles will have soup, bread and a game day at the church on Tuesday Jan 13 from noon to 3. Bring a favorite game. See Karen Rice or Joyce Lammie for details.
*Our Advent Offering is now a tick over $20,000! You are so generous!! Thank you so much for investing in people's eternity. Water wells will be dug in Indian villages without access to clean water... in Jesus' name. Solar powered Bible readers will go to tribes in Papua New Guinea so folks can hear God's word in their own language. We're still receiving funds thru Jan 4. If you'd like to contribute, write checks to CCC and put advent offering on the memo line.
*Organized Prayer (M = 3-4 and TH = 8-9am) will resume the week of Jan 4.

p.s. Don't Forget to check the card holder in the foyer even if you think you couldn't get any cards!
p.p.s. This Sunday is the last day to get those senior questionnaires from the foyer table back to Rick.
