Holiday Greetings, Saints!

It's the Blast Thanksgiving Edition early, so you don't have to plow thru it on Friday while you're shopping or eating leftovers (or sleeping in). I sincerely hope you have a great weekend whatever you're doing. I'll be eating turkey & dressing & gravy... mostly. There'll be celery casserole (made with cream of chicken soup!) and cranberry salad (with marshmallows and whipped cream, which is more dessert-ish but certainly isn't dessert) and other stuff, but the dressing is what gets my attention. AND I'll look forward to the leftovers, which are in many ways better the second time around (and the third, and the fourth...). The prep is super easy... as long as you have a microwave.      Enjoy your day, however you give thanks and celebrate.

Speaking of thanks, I want to thank all of you who pray for Deb and me, and who pray for the church. I know you're out there. We appreciate you so much. God lifts us up in response to your prayers. Bless you.

And speaking of prayer, there will be no prayer at the church Thursday morning. Sleep in! Unless you have to get up and get that turkey in the oven.

Thanks as well to all who put together Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. 229 were brought to the distribution center from CCC, which is more than last year. Way to go, team! Thanks to Awana for a huge effort, for all you who helped load boxes and to Lora H for coordinating it all.

Thanks to those who brought cookies last week! Our freezer was bare, and you stepped up. Are cookies your love language? If so, bake & bring more! :-)

'Tis the Season for... being generous. Together, let's bless the villages in India with clean water wells and a tribe in Papua New Guinea with solar powered Bible readers (for a largely illiterate people). One well costs $2000 to drill and one Mega-Voice reader is around $35. Let's assist our missionaries on the ground with what they're doing. Write checks to CCC and put 'advent offering' in the memo line. 100% of that will get to those places. Thank you!

What's Goin' On...

*Friday Dec 5 at 6:30pm we'll have another Hymn Sing and Prayer time. Snacks included.

*Saturday Dec 6 we'll have the Women's Christmas Brunch, 10:30am to 12:30pm here. Be sure to sign up this Sunday after the service. Invite a friend or daughter.

*Also on Dec 7 at 6pm is the Winter Concert for "Neighbors in Harmony', a Deer Park community choir. Our own Megan G will be singing! It's at the DP High School auditorium, 800 Weber Road, DP.

This Sunday...

At 9am, there will be the Story Hour (younger kids), Ambassadors for Christ (5th thru 12th grade) and Ace (for the rest of us). In Ace, we'll be in lesson 2 of the very excellent video series, The Engagement Project. It is really well done. Join us.

And in the service, we'll worship, the kids will rehearse for the Pageant (Thanks, Miss Jayne!) during Kid Zone and the rest of us will hear from Chase A

: "Known by Him: from Leaves to Life." It's gonna be good.

Might you invite someone to church?

See you Sunday.

Pastor Rob
