Almost August Greetings!

Can you believe July is fading fast? I think this every summer. It seems like the three months stretches out before me like an endless sandy beach to explore and enjoy. Then, before I can unfurl my beach towel, someone calls on the phone or some need comes up, and when I turn back to the towel, it's time to fold it up and get in the car. We're already talking about the fall classes and programs here at church. I trust you can grab some leisure before August ends!

What's Goin' On...

*The Bible Truck, that big semi that is a rolling Bible museum, will be at our campus next Thursday and Friday, August 6 & 7, from 4 to 8pm. It's a great opportunity to bring kids, grandkids and neighbors to find out more about the best selling book in the world. We'll have snacks there and Bibles to give away. Come on down! Pray for this opportunity and pick up cards in the foyer to use as an invitation to folks you know.

*Sunday, August 9 is our annual church picnic. Woohoo! If your last name starts with A-K, please bring a dessert or fruit. If L-Z, bring a salad or side dish. Those things will complement pulled pork and chicken sandwiches. We'll need a bit of assistance for set up and clean up. Contact Dana P if you can assist or if you can let us use your canopy. As a bonus, we're having a baptism that day. If you'd like to be included, see me.

NEEDS: Cookies, as always, (they bring us together after the service) and someone to help put the refreshments together (see Joanne C or Dana P). New Hope Resource Center could use denture cleaner, men's deodorant, men's shirts small & medium, men's shorts and backpacks for kid's back to school. Drop these at the donation station back by the upstairs kitchen and the KidZone.

This Sunday...

We'll worship, hear how Don P found Jesus and check out 1 Corinthians 10:14-11:1. It's Paul's wrap-up on idolatry, with some serious words about what happens when you worship other gods. Plus, we'll remember what Jesus did for us with Communion.

See you Sunday?
