Greetings, Saints!
It seems like prayer for a wetter summer is working so far. Are you
praying? I know God can change anything, even the weather. You know we
meet for prayer on Mondays, 3-4pm and on Thursday mornings, 8-9. I think
my concept of prayer has changed since I was a new believer. I used to
think you needed a list… and you had to go thru it, mentioning each
person or it might not count. Now I view prayer more as being with God,
even if I’m not saying much. It can be just enjoying his presence. I
find scripture helps me to do that in my own morning times. When we pray
at church, we start with praise, enjoy God’s presence and rest. When
God brings someone or something to mind, we talk to him about it. I
think God likes the company! That sounds strange, but he, being outside
of time, has plenty of time for each of us. Might you consider joining
us for one of those church prayer times? I’m full-on confident it’s
one of the most important things we can do as a church. Plus, prayer is
God’s idea. :-)
What’s Goin’ On…
*June 13 is also Garden Fest at the North County Food Pantry. They might
still need help for this festive event. If you can, call Lora at 509-292-2530.
*June 21 is Father’s Day! At CCC that means pies (mmmmm). If you can,
please make a pie for the occasion and bring it, cut, on that Sunday
morning.
*There’ll be a July 4th Celebration at the church, 3 to 8:30-ish! Hot
dogs and hamburgers will be provided, bring a side dish. Bring chairs
also. We’ll play corn hole, eat, sit by the river, play frisbee, wade
in the river or play any outdoor games you bring. There’ll be a family
friendly movie, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, inside from 6pm on. You’ll
be done in plenty of time to run off to fireworks or head home to be
with your dog during the fireworks.
*Save the Dates: VBS July 20-23.
*Save this one too: Family Food Baseball night at Avista Stadium,
Wednesday July 22. Tickets available soon.
This Sunday…
We’ll worship, hear about our missionary in the Philippines, dedicate
newborn Joseph, pray and see what kind of questions the
Corinthians had concerning marriage in chapter 7. Buckle up, he covers a
lot!
See you Sunday?
