April Salutations, Saints!
I’m loving the greening of our world. Some trees are budding in the yard and the snowberry bushes in the woods are poking out little leaves. I saw my first wildflowers on a walk out back. The grass in the yard is getting more color. Ya gotta love spring. Hallelujah.
Hey, thanks to all of you who baked, bought, made, crafted, assembled and brought food for the Easter Breakfast. What a spread! And those deviled eggs… (should we come up with another name for those little bites of heaven?) There was a lot of food, great variety, amazing deliciousness and good fellowship. Thank you!!
Way back in the Jesus revolution days, people often took a verse or two and put it to music (ala Maranatha Music). I think that was one result of the revival at that time (and I’m looking forward to it happening again). As you might remember, I’ve been meandering thru the psalms. Recently, I came across a verse I can’t recall reading, but it sure sounded familiar. That’s because I sang it in some other version years ago. The tune and words came back immediately. Isn’t that amazing the way you can remember things better by singing them? (Sidebar: one of our daughters does Classical Conversations homeschooling with her son, and they sing to remember historical facts and all kinds of stuff. Amazing). Anyhoo, the verse is Psalm 28:7… “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” I’ve been singing it on my morning walks the last couple of days, except in the singing version I remember, it was, ‘Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise him.’ Anyone else remember that song? I love having stuff like that come back to me. Thank God for the way he made us and what our brains can do… and for his word.

Kurt opens up a study on the Kingdom of God in Ace upstairs, while the Story Time focus is Count Nicolas Ludwig von Zinzendorf (you can call him Count Zin for short). The dude’s a hero, a real kingdom stud. Come and listen to the story or even sign up to read it. Downstairs at 9.
In the service, we’ll have our quarterly Concert of Prayer. We’ve heard the suggestions, so there will be no ‘pew praying’ but will be led by elders up front, mingled with good worship songs. I’m interviewing two of our own to see what God is doing in their lives. Isn’t it cool to hear how others respond to God and their circumstances? Communion will cap off our service. I think it’s gonna be a great time.
